My first memory of listening to Willie Nelson was driving home from Jerome to Chino Valley on Arizona’s 89A. My family would often go on day trips to the Verde Valley when I was a kid and his album, Stardust, was a favorite.

The first time I heard this song was on Willie’s masterpiece, Red Headed Stranger. I love that whole record and this one especially caught my attention. It’s become a trusty companion through the last couple of years. I’ve been working with it on and off; understanding and appreciating it in new ways. I think this version is finally ready to be released into the wild.
